Week 5: Thursday
THE GIVER:
Today in my reading, Jonas started his training. It would consist of long hours of trying to get all of the horrible memories that the community could not handle into his head. The Giver explained to him that it would not be easy and that some of the memories would be rather painful and hurtful but since he was called to be the up coming reaciever then he would just have to get used to it. When he started the memories were fin and he was learning all sorts of things that he never heard of like snow and a sled and just simple things like that. He even started to learn about colors and how many there were. This was definatley an amazing thing for him.

Week 5: Wednesday
THE GIVER:
Today in my reading, Jonas went up to the stage to find out what his assignment was. When he got up there the lady told the audience that Jonas had not been assigned and they were all surprised. The advisor said that he had been chosen . That meant that meant that he had been watched for many years and that the elders had made a decision to make the next receiver. Jonas knew that that position was one of the most powerful in the community. He was told that his training would have to be done apart and alone and that it would just be him and his teacher also known as the former receiver. They also told him that his training would involve some pain and that he would soon find out what that meant.

THE GIVER:
Today in my reading, Jonas went to the ceremony for the ages and when they were calling the names he was skipped. The audience knew that the director had made a mistake and she knew it also but she just kept calling the other names like nothing was wrong. Once the last number was called she told the audience that she knew that she had made a mistake and asked them to forgive her and they did. She told Jonas that she was sorry for causing him anguish and and asked for his forgiveness as well. She called him up and told him his assignment.
